The reported death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar is set to take center stage during a meeting in Berlin on Friday between President Joe Biden and key European counterparts, as per two Western officials involved in the planning.
The initial agenda for the leaders of the US, Germany, France, and the UK had focused on discussions regarding a potential ceasefire in Lebanon and finding a solution to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. However, one official stated that the recent news will now shift the focus of the meeting.
Additionally, the leaders were expected to address strategies to support Kyiv ahead of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting. This group, consisting of 57 countries backing Ukraine's military efforts, convenes periodically to discuss and coordinate actions.
