Halo fans react to live-action Cortana

We got an in-depth look at Paramount’s upcoming Halo  TV series, and fans are all over the place with Cortana’s look.

Long before Cortana was a disembodied voice on Windows, she was the sidekick to Master Chief in the Halo  video games. Cortana is a fan-favorite character brought to life by actress Jen Taylor, who’s played Cortana since 2001’s Halo: Combat Evolved. In a very uncommon move for video game adaptations, be they  good  or  bad, Taylor is resuming her role in Paramount’s series. Many were thrilled to hear this, but the reception to Cortana’s live-action look is less than glowing.

Watch the new trailer for Paramount’s Halo  to see what I mean.

As a long-time Halo  fan, I have to admit that something looks off about the character here. Some claim it’s due to missing visual effects from the games, while others believe the design is flat-out awful. Polarizing opinions come with the territory when  the franchise is massive.

Either way, the common sentiment is something is wrong — whether it’s minuscule or massive. Check out the reactions below to see what everyone is saying about Cortana’s live-action design.
