Halloween 2023 in London: Our top club nights of the spooky weekend

Spooky season is well and truly underway. Costumes have been purchased, and for everyone other than children under 12, who will be holding their neighbours to ransom for sweets, now there’s the small issue of where to go..

Well, fear not (or maybe a little, it is Halloween after all...); we have broken down some of the capital’s most exciting music events of the weekend so you can boogie your way through the wicked weekend.

Here’s our top pick of Halloween music events this weekend:

Friday, October 27

Village Underground

Chaos in the CBD

New Zealand born house-duo Chaos in the CBD are favourites in the underground music community, forging their way through Peckham’s vibrant night scene, bringing the uber chic summer sounds of New Zealand to the chillier streets of London. In fact, one of their biggest tracks, Midnight In Peckham, a laid-back, jazz-infused, two-step anthem, is an ode to the vibrancy of their favoured South East London residence.

The duo will be taking their sounds slightly further east, headlining Shoreditch hotspot Village Underground for an all night long set, and with chaos literally in their name, the two are set to put on a night to remember.

Tickets: SOLD OUT.

Fabric

(Jake Davis/Khroma Collective)

Young Marco

Amsterdam-based DJ and producer Young Marco made a splash earlier this year, with his hit What You Say? which sampled Imogen Heap’s 2005 track Hide and Seek, and transformed it into a thumping dance record.

Since then, he's been in demand on the international DJ circuit, taking over venues across the world, and throwing a party at intimate venue The Pickle Factory in London.

This time though, the Dutch talent brings a curation of his own to Farringdon’s iconic Fabric nightclub, spotlighting artists from his Safe Trip label for a night of high-tempo, high-energy dance music that spills well into the early hours.

Tickets: from £17, ra.co

Saturday, October 28

DRUMSHEDS

(Khali Ackford)

Elrow Horrorween

North London’s DRUMSHEDS opened mere weeks ago and has already become a favourite in the dance music community, booking some of the most noteworthy DJ talents on the planet. The dance floor continues to play host to some of the biggest parties in the capital.

Halloween is no different, with the venue staging Elrow’s spooky gathering in the former IKEA warehouse, with many dance music favourites on the line-up, including Eats Everything, Claptone, Hannah Wants, Conducta and Girls Don't Sync.

Elrow has made a name for itself with high-spectacle shows that include inflatables, glitter, confetti and theatrics.

Tickets: SOLD OUT (resale active), drumshedslondon.com

Studio 338

Studio 338 (Ryan Dinham)

Greenwich superclub Studio 338 is known for hosting epic day and night parties that spill over from its iconic terrace to the dance floor, so of course, spooky season provides the perfect opportunity to continue their shenanigans.

London dance record label Release are set to throw a huge party, with heavy hitters including Ilario Alicante, Dense & Pika, Matthias Tanzman and Seb Zito all taking to the decks for an epic staging that will run into the early hours of the morning.

Partygoers can expect a high-octane night, with the club's booming soundsystem bass-trembling sounds crafted to keep spirits high on what will be a mammoth dance-a-thon.

Solardo

Manchester-duo Solardo have become a force to be reckoned with in dance music, with residencies in Ibiza and sell out shows across the country and beyond, including playing sets at Glastonbury and EDC Las Vegas, thanks to their irresistibly fun bouncy house tracks.

Though the pair are Manchester through and through, they have been welcomed with open arms into London’s vibrant dance scene, a fact solidified by their headline show at one of the most recognisable clubs in the capital, east London’s E1 nightclub.

Featuring a wealth of special guests, their party promises to be one not to be missed.

Tickets: from £25, ra.co

Fabric

(Jake Davis)

Archie Hamilton (All Night Long)

London’s own Archie Hamilton has been a familiar face in the capital's dance music scene for some time, and with good reason. His range of musical styles and massive record collection always keeps crowds guessing, making him a popular choice.

This versatility sets the scene for a very special night for the DJ, who takes on his first all night long set at Fabric nightclub, taking on Room 1 for an unpredictably exciting night, with talents including KiNK featuring on the turntables in Room 2.

Tickets: from £50.60, ra.co

Night Tales

Gerd Janson (All Night Long)

German DJ and producer Gerd Janson has made a name for himself with his classic rave sound, with his tracks oozing the acid house appeal of the Nineties

His well-refined craftsmanship in house and disco music makes for a great choice this Halloween weekend, with Janson taking on the capital’s iconic Night Tales for an All Night Long event that will see him put on a lengthy set.

Tickets: SOLD OUT

SaSaSaS

Award-winning drum and bass group SaSaSaS are undoubtedly one of the most popular acts in the genre. The group, which consists of MC’s Harry Shotta, Shabba D and DJ Phantasy, deliver charismatic performances to excited fans every time they take to the stage.

With heavy bass and skanking in full order, the group eyes up a headline performance at Shoreditch venue XOYO, for killer moves and grooves, joined by special guests, who will take party goers on till the reasonable hour of 2am.

The Yard

Shortlist Halloween Fundraiser for Gaza

If you’re still unsure on your plans for Halloween, why not use your urge to dance as a tool for good, as The Yard hosts a special fundraising event, with all proceeds going to Medical Aid for Palestinians.

While the event has not yet released any information on the artists who will be on the line-up, the description says to expect “bouncy and boisterous club sounds”, with thumping dance anthems set to continue through the night.
