Halloween 2022 in Dublin is set to be a busy one, with a huge range of spooky things to do in and around the city including family friendly pumpkin patches, movie nights and all sorts of festive fun.
Whether it's the kids you're trying to entertain or you're looking for something fun and spooky to do with your group of pals, there is plenty of things to do in the lead up to Halloween 2022 in and near Dublin to tickle your fancy.
Here are the best events and things to do in and around Dublin in October for Halloween 2022.

Retro Drive In Movies
Retro Drive In Movies returns with a line-up of spooky favourites including Hocus Pocus, Gremlins, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Ghost Busters and Beetlejuice among a slew of other classics.
With their pay-per-vehicle ticketing system, its a family afternoon out that is great value for money. A five-seater car costs €32.90 (which works out at €6.58 per person in a full car) while a seven-seater car costs €34.50.

Nightmare Realm
Perhaps one of the most frightening experiences you can have in Dublin during the Halloween 2022 season, The Nightmare Realm takes place at the Fruit & Veg Market in Dublin 7.
This year's event is sure to be an ultra spooky one with areas like The Haunted Orphanage, Sewers, Cannibal's Playground, Attack of the Clowns and Death Row Penitentiary.
There will also be a live DJ set, food options, pumpkin games, vampires, photo opportunities, dancers, acrobats, giveaways and a Halloween Town.

Clissman Pumpkin Patch
Clissman Horse Caravans in County Wicklow is a real treat for the kids this Halloween, with an excellent pumpkin patch for them to run around in and find the perfect pumpkin as well as donkeys to visit and a spectacular spooky trail full of surprising delights.
Additionally, there is a barn with a cafe, hay couches and games all of the family will enjoy.
Farmaphobia
Farmaphobia is another event that certainly is not for the faint hearted. Located in Fordstown in County Meath, Farmaphobia takes place across 100 acres of farmland which has been transformed into a terrifying scream arena.
The themed attractions, or should we say horrifying experiences, on offer this year include Cult, Clown Town, Purge Night, Momma's Murder Maize and Zombie Morgue.
Farmaphobia takes place until November 1 with tickets prices varying depending on the date. The experience can be booked here.
The Monster Mash Up Halloween Festival
As the Finglas Fright Night and Otherworld Halloween Festivals combine this year to create The Monster Mash Up Halloween Festival.
Taking place from October 28 until 31, events for all the family include a Finglas and Ballymun light show, a cinema club at the Axis Theatre and more spooky fun.#

Tayto Park After Dark
The beloved Tayto Park, now rebranded as Emerald Park, is returning with its wonderfully Halloween-y Tayto Park after Dark, which sees the theme park open late for frightening fun into the late hours.
Open until 10pm over the Halloween period, expect all of your favourite thrills and rides such as the Cú Chulainn Coaster, as well as great food options.
Dockers and Demons Festival
Dockers and Demons Festival takes place in Irishtown and Ringsend, bringing the local community a series of family friendly Halloween events to enjoy between October 29 and November 4.
Organisers will announce things to do in the programme of events on the festival's social channels.
Croke Park Hurloween Tours
Croke Park once again celebrates Halloween with a twist with its Hurloween experience, which invites GAA-mad kids to the stadium to learn more about Ireland's ancient sport with visits to areas like the dressing rooms.
The trip also includes a ‘Warriors and Hurlers Workshop’ where younger visitors will learn more about the story of Setanta.
Additionally, visitors will have the chance to visit the GAA Museum and Interactive Games Zone. Tickets can be booked here.
SpookField at Smithfield Square
From October 29 until 31, a themed light show at Smithfield Sqaure will feature Halloween hologram style content, ghoulish sounds and devilish lights.
The show will start at 6pm every evening and is free to attend.

Bram Stoker Festival
One of the most highly anticipated Halloween events in Dublin, Bram Stoker Festival, returns from October 28 until 30.
More than 40,000 people are expected to enjoy the first live edition of the event since 2019, which will feature Borealis, a free, mesmerising installation of light and sound which will create the illusion of an aurora borealis in Dublin Castle’s Upper Courtyard every night of the festival.
Plus, there will be Stokerland, the annual pop-up Victorian fun park in St Patrick's Park as well as Spooky Stories at Marsh’s Library and other themed events.
The Big Scream Festival
October 27 kicks off The Big Scream Festival, a five-day festival of spooky fun in Dublin's north inner city.
There will be a funfair and plenty of other family fun announced closer to the time, as well as the chance to win wonderful prizes.
Púca Festival
Taking place this October Bank Holiday weekend, Púca Festival in Trim features a wonderful line-up of performances from Irish favourites such as Gavin James, Imelda May, Joanne McNally, The Academic and Blindboy as well as things like Celtic Voyage Circus and Haunted Trim Walking Tours.
Pumpkin World at Reynoldstown Pumpkin Patch
Taking place every weekend from October 15 until October 30, Pumpkin World at Reynoldstown Pumpkin Patch will be a fun Halloween themed day out for all the family.
Visitors will be able to pick their own pumpkins and enjoy an array of other Halloween activities in Naul, County Dublin, with tickets available here.

Halloween at EPIC Museum
EPIC Museum brings us a wonderful Halloween experience this spooky season, bringing us right back to the Irish origins of the holiday.
On Saturday, October there is Samhain Family Festival which will allow visitors to become fully immersed Halloween experience with a range of workshops including Pimpin' Pumpkins and Transformin's Turnips.
There will also be the Story of Samhain Puppet Show, Animal Spirits Mask Making Workshop and Illustrate an Irish Vampire Workshop.
On October 27, there's a Trick or Treat Around the World Workshop and on November 2 and 3, there's Notorious Irish Murder Mystery Camp.

Slaughterhouse: Simpsons Treehouse of Horrorthon
Simpsons Treehouse of Horrorthon takes place at Hen's Teeth in Dublin 8 and will, like the name suggests, be an evening of Simpson Treehouse of Horror viewing on Halloween night.
Spooky Springfield fancy dress strongly encouraged and there will be special Slaughterhouse x Simpsons cocktails and bottles of wine available to buy, as well snacks and music inspired by the episodes.

Malahide Haunted Treasure Hunt
Malahide Castle and Gardens will host a haunted treasure trail to celebrate Halloween, inviting families to take part from October 29 to 31. The venue will transform its already popular fairy trail for the occasion. Diabolical Dorothy’s Dreadful Brew will see the Castle’s resident witch seek the help of visitors to find her potion ingredients along the spooky trail. Bookings can be made here.
Liffey Valley Shopping Centre pumpkin patch
Liffey Valley Shopping Centre has announced its plans to celebrate Halloween with a family friendly pumpkin patch and other Halloween experiences. The pumpkin patch experience will be kicking off on Friday, October 28 and will last until Sunday, October 30.
Those visiting the shopping centre on the Halloween weekend will get the chance to select and decorate their seasonal jack-o-lantern. Tickets for the experience are free and can be booked here.
Creatures of Samhain
Creature of Samhain at Meeting House Square in Temple Bar takes place on Sunday, October 23 and consists of a retelling of Irish myths and legends for young ears. The event will see seanchaí and colourful characters bringing spine-tingling tales of the Morrigan, Caorthannach (a monstrous dragon monster), The Fairy Queen and the cheeky Puca to the Ark outdoor stage.
Additionally, Meeting House Square will be a hive of activity with face-painters and walkabout interactive characters. There will also be the Samhain Book Swap.
Roberta's Spooky Drag Brunch
Fans of a good drag show are in for a spooky treat at Roberta's in Temple Bar on Saturday, October 29. As well as stellar performances, expect games, challenges, prizes, drinks made with the finest Absolut Vodka and plenty of audience participation.
Tickets are priced at €35 per person and include one brunch dish from the menu and three Absolut cocktails. Bookings can be made through Eventbrite.
Queer Mania
Hosts Jack O'Connor and Dylan Jordan bring a special Halloween edition of Queer Mania to The Sound House on October 23. Queer Mania is a regular night of live performances that aims to celebrate and showcase the best in LGBTQ+ talent in Ireland.
