MYSURU: A 34-year-old gram panchayat member from KR Nagar taluk was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside a resort room on the outskirts of Mysuru city early on Tuesday.
Haliyur gram panchayat member Sathish was found dead on a bed inside a resort when police were summoned to the spot. Mysuru district police have taken up a case and are investigating.
“As of now there is no suspicion about foul play,” said superintendent of police R Chethan.
The gram panchayat member was sharing the room with another person.
A case of unnatural death has been registered following a complaint by his family member, he added.
Sources claim that select members of the gram panchayat were sent on a tour.
“A group of eleven members had left the village almost two weeks ago. They had visited several places across Karnataka before arriving in Mysuru on Monday,” they added.
