Halifax is offering £175 to customers who switch to its Reward Current Account before April 3.
People who move to a Reward Current Account or Ultimate Reward Current Account will receive the switch incentive. The offer is open to current eligible Halifax customers who don’t already have one of the accounts as well as new customers, reports Mirror Money.
Both new and existing customers can use the Current Account Switch Service free tool to easily see if they are eligible for a bank account switch.
Alongside the switching bonus, Halifax Reward Account customers can also choose from either £5 cashback each month or a choice of other benefits including the following:
- Cinema tickets
- Magazine downloads
- Movie streaming
However, to be eligible for monthly rewards, customers must first spend £500 on their debit card each month or keep their balance at £5,000 or above. Customers must also be able to pay £1,500 or more into the account each month and have to remain in credit.
The Reward Current Account comes with a monthly fee of £3 unless you pay in £1,500 or more each month. For a more pricey £17 monthly fee card holders can access additional extras like travel, home and mobile insurance, plus car breakdown cover.
The switch deal goes live on March 14 and ends on April 3.
It comes as banks increasingly move online with another 14 high-street branch closures announced by Barclays. This includes one branch in Scotland.
According to a spokesperson for the bank, demand for in person services and visits to local branches has been continuously falling.
