Residents in six neighborhoods served by Volusia County's water utility are being told to boil their tap water after a storm-related electrical problem caused a loss of water pressure. The county issued the precautionary boil water notice at 8:45 p.m. on Oct. 3, 2026, according to its Volusia County water alert page for utility customers.
The affected communities are Halifax Plantation, Sugar Mill, Fairchild Oaks, Plantation Oaks of Flagler, Wexford Reserve, and Wexford Cove. As of Oct. 5, the county had not announced that the notice was lifted.
