Hakim Ziyech makes AC Milan transfer decision as Chelsea receive £33m Raheem Sterling response

Hakim Ziyech could be the second senior Chelsea attacker to leave Stamford Bridge following the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan on loan.

Like Lukaku, Ziyech could be plying his trade in Serie A next season after the red side of Milan made contact for the Moroccan who is open to exit this summer. According to Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan have been in direct contact with the 29-year-old since last week.

The Rossoneri are growing in confidence that they can secure a deal for the winger this window as both clubs discuss the potential transfer. Ziyech signed for the Blues in 2020 from Ajax for a fee of £33m but has found himself a rotational figure under Thomas Tuchel since the beginning of 2021.

It is hard to separate this potential exit from the clear interest in Raheem Sterling who could secure a move to Chelsea this weekend, plus the pursuit of Raphinha from Leeds United. Both would further add to the numbers in Tuchel's attack, potentially lessening Ziyech's game-time which was already disrupted.

Ziyech has scored 14 goals for Chelsea in 83 appearances, making 10 assists. Scoring a key goal against Atletico Madrid in last year's Champions League-winning run. In 2021/22, the winger played 44 times, scoring eight times and creating six goals, slightly bettering his overall tally from his first season in west London.
