Hakim Ziyech is closing in on a move away from Chelsea to join French giants Paris Saint-Germain - after a move to Manchester United failed to materialise.
The winger, who shone at the World Cup in Qatar for the African side, has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge over recent seasons. He has made just 15 appearances for the London side this season - less than half of those being starts.
In that time, he has failed to score a single goal. It appears that his opportunities will be even more limited for the remainder of the campaign after the Blues completed big-money deals for Mykahylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke.
Ziyech appears to have been handed a lifeline involving an exit from Chelsea. According to French outlet L’Equipe, Ligue 1 champions PSG are in talks regarding a loan deal for the 29-year-old.
It appears that the French giants have managed to beat off considerable competition to secure Ziyech. Previous reports suggested that Italian duo AC Milan and Roma were also targeting a swoop for him this window.
Manchester United were also previously noted to be admirers of the Moroccan playmaker with Erik ten Hag thought to be keen on reunion with his former Ajax star only for the Old Trafford hierarchy to veto the move. Ziyech sparkled during his time in Amsterdam before his £33m switch to West London.

Speaking about the winger’s ability, the Dutchman said: "Hakim [Ziyech], the classic individualist, in the good sense of the word. You need him to make the difference and at times you need him in the team structure too. He can see the team cohesion and he sees the bigger picture.
"Whenever resistance is at its highest, Ziyech shines. We have many players who can create but in the final third, no one is as good as Hakim."
During his time at Chelsea, Ziyech has made 98 appearances in all competitions for the Blues and scored 14 goals. He still has two-and-a-half years left to run on his current contract.
Ziyech might not be the only member of the first team to leave the club on deadline day. Arsenal are reportedly interested in a move for Italian midfielder Jorginho who is potentially available with just six months remaining on his deal.
The Gunners are considering a swoop for the former Napoli star as an alternative to Chelsea-linked Moises Caicedo. Arsenal have been left frustrated in their attempts to sign the Ecuadorian so far after seeing two bids rejected.
Chelsea in the meantime are attempting to make room in their bloated squad for Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez . The Blues have activated the release clause written into his deal with the Portuguese giants and are attempting to add his signature to what has been a record-breaking January spend.
