Hairy Bikers star Simon 'Si' King shares 'exciting' update after Go Local show came to an end

Hairy Bikers star Simon 'Si' King has cheered up fans after news that the latest series has come to an end. Simon and his co-star Dave Myers recently informed fans that their TV show would not continue and would be coming to an end after just eight episodes.

However, Si has since revealed that he has a solo adventure planned, which will see him doing something without Dave, who he recently starred with in the BBC seris Hairy Bikers Go Local, reports The Daily Mirror.

On Monday, January 16, they told their viewers: "Sadly, the series has come to an end. We hope you enjoyed the series and the journey we went through with each episode, we look forward to seeing you on your telly sometimes soon."

"Be sure to catch all of the episodes from GO LOCAL on iplayer! All recipes can be found on the @bbcgoodfood website. Love Si and Dave."

After the announcement fans were quick to express their devastation that the show was over. Luckily Si had some news to cheer his fans up.

Posting on social media, he wrote: "EXCITING NEWS, I’m heading to@pubintheparkLeamington Spa and Tunbridge Wells in July, then Chiswick in September. Find me at the Saturday sessions at these locations! See you there?

"Head to the Pub in the Park website to sign up for early pre-sale access on 3rd Feb!" Fans were quick to take to the comments with one writing: "Ooh yes I’ll be over in july woohoo xxx."

A second commented: "This has absolutely made my weekend!! Was really hoping you were going to be at Tunbridge Wells!!"

Pub in the Park was created by celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, and each year celebrates everything that there is to love about the glorious British pub. Tom promoted the upcoming event on Twitter last week, telling his fans: "Don’t forget, you’ve got loads of amazing restaurants cooking up the most delicious food paired with some proper feel-good tunes too! Summertime here we come."

Whilst Si is preparing to go out on his own, his co-star Dave also gave an update to fans earlier this month. He explained that he is continuing to recieve treatment for cancer and after being diagnosed last year at the age of 64, saying he is "doing kinda all right."

He said: "[The treatment] is still ongoing but I'm kinda doing all right, it's like many people, it's something one learns to live with." Dave went on to tell reassure fans he was "going to be fine" but his diagnosis has meant he has had to take a break from routine filming.
