Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers sparks joy as he returns to This Morning after cancer battle

This Morning fans were pleased to see Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers back on TV after his cancer battle.

Dave was diagnosed with cancer last year and announced it in May while on podcast The Hairy Bikers: Agony Uncles… A Right Pair of Aunts. He said at the time that he wanted to discuss it publicly because he didn’t want to “hide under a rock”.

In a previous podcast, the 65-year-old said his walking had been impacted due to his ongoing treatment and he feels he has had to learn to walk again, but despite the ongoing treatment, he added he remains positive about his outlook.

Dave appeared on ITV's This Morning on Wednesday with co-star Si King. Dave and Si told presenters Holly and Phil what they were planning to cook. Speaking to Phillip Schofield, Dave said he was glad to be back and was doing well as he said: "It's a work in progress", before laughing he had his "hair back".

Many people took to social media to say they were glad to see the pair together on their screens this morning. One person said: "Nice to see Dave Myers looking well after his cancer battle."

A second wrote: "Glad to see Dave back - hope he's doing well", as a third added: "Nice to see both hairy bikers back on tv again."

Laura said: "Good to see the Hairy Biker gent who had/has cancer looking well and back on tv again." Sue commented: "Aww Dave is looking well."

Another echoed: "Awww #thehairybikers do love each other glad to see Dave looking well and hair growing back."

Speaking previously on the How To Be 60 podcast, Dave said: "I really have no symptoms of the cancer, it's the chemotherapy. It's neuropathy in your feet, so it's hard to stand. So I've had to learn to walk again properly."

Dave went on to say however that he will be back on set soon working on the BBC show as he says they will film around the chemotherapy. He added: "That's just the way it is really. One doesn't have an option at the minute. All I can say is it's not spreading and I'm holding my own ok, so I'm very grateful for that."
