Hairy Bikers' Si King 'finally' back to work with Dave Myers amid cancer battle

BBC Hairy Bikers fans have flooded Si King and Dave Myers with support as their latest cookbook is 'finally' finished and ready for release.

The TV star was inundated with supportive messages as he shared their latest book update. He wrote: “It’s finally here everyone! Our finished copies of Eat Well Every Day are here!"

He added: "Filled with stuff you’d want to eat everyday of the week! Pre-order your copy now, through the link in our bio, so it lands on you doorstep on publication day! Send us your pics with your copies, we’re so excited for you you lot to have them as well!”

In reply, one fan buzzed: "Can't wait to buy a copy and try out the recipes....thanks Si x," as someone else added: "It's great to see you looking so well. I will definitely be buying a copy. Xxxx"

"Congratulations to you and Si for bringing out another great book can't wait to get me hands on mine xx," a third added. A fourth said: "Looking good Dave. Hope you're keeping well. Can't wait to read the book."

The pair announced the new book five weeks ago in a social media post that read: "We’re delighted to reveal the cover of our new book EAT WELL EVERYDAY! Fell good food for everyday of the week, filled with new recipes for your daily needs.

"EAT WELL EVERYDAY will be coming on April 27th! Pre order at the link available in our bio!"

Dave, who has been undergoing chemotherapy as he continues his battle against cancer, also posted a clip of himself opening copies of the book last week, saying: "This isn't about counting calories, it's food that's fit for purpose - I feel healthy looking at it! I'm so proud of it."

After starting chemotherapy, Dave lost his hair and signature beard but recently took to social media to share a snap taken from a night out with his family – sporting his full beard again.

Speaking on the Seasoned podcast, Dave said of his cancer treatment: "It's funny when you first start chemotherapy, it's quite hard – I'm still having it, it was really brutal. I lost so much weight and then it's a battle to get your calories in."

He went on to say: "At first I thought, 'Right, this is great, I can eat all those pies I haven't been eating for years', except [my] appetite was dreadful!

"For me, a glutton, losing my appetite was awful, a can of soup was about as far as I could go.
