The Hairy Bikers have paid a visit to a popular Indian restaurant for their latest series.
Prashad, which specialises in vegetarian cuisine and shot to fame on Gordon Ramsay TV show Ramsay’s Best Restaurant, first launched in Bradford before moving to its home in Drighlington, in Leeds, back in 2012. TV chefs Si King and Dave Myers, better known as the Hairy Bikers, paid the venue a visit for their new series Hairy Bikers Go Local.
Co-owners Bobby and Minal Patel and their team opened their doors for the BBC2 series. The food at Prashad tells the story of the Patel family’s lives from India to West Yorkshire, with Gujarati recipes handed down through the family, made with the best produce Yorkshire has to offer.

In the upcoming episode, due to air on Wednesday, January 11, the Hairy Bikers source mushrooms, rhubarbs and beetroots for Prashad, to make garlic mushroom pakoras, beetroot-stuffed paratha and rhubarb, rose and cardamom kulfi.
“We were so excited to be invited on to the show, and chosen to represent Yorkshire” said Bobby Patel. “Being able to share our Gujarati food with people is such a gift, and to have it recognised again, by two chefs we really admire, is a testament to the hard work of Minal and the team.”
Series Hairy Bikers Go Local was the last filmed before Dave Myers, 65, was diagnosed with cancer. In May, the chef announced news of his diagnosis to fans.
Dave said: “I haven't been too well recently and basically, I've got to have some chemo, you know all this anyway, so this year is going to be a bit quiet for me, I'm not going to be filming, some of the festivals I'm not going to be able to go to, some may be okay but this year's a bit of a write off for us."
In a recent update, Dave said he’s still receiving cancer treatment and ‘doing alright’. The Prashad team said they were honoured to work with the famous chefs on the new TV series.

“It was an honour to serve up my tasting menu for Si and Dave” said head chef Minal. “You’ll have to watch the show to see their full verdict, but the whole team left with full tummies and huge smiles, which is the experience we want everyone to have at Prashad”.
The Prashad episode of The Hairy Bikers Go Local will air on BBC2 at 8pm on Wednesday, January 11.
