Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers has shared a health update with fans following his cancer diagnosis. And he says he’s taken a ‘big step forward’.
Last year the popular chef shared that he was undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer. In recent months Dave has often shared regular updates with fans and this week he told his Instagram followers that he’s ‘getting back in the saddle’.
The 65-year-old was joined by his friend Si King, the other Hairy Biker, as they shared content on the Hairy Bikers' Instagram page. Dave revealed that he has bought a £4,699 RE Bullet Trials 500 motorcycle.

As reported by Lancs Live, he captioned the post: "Big step forward in getting back in the saddle. Si came with me to take a look at my new bike, a 500cc royal Enfield bullet trials bike. Very exciting, thank you Arnold’s motorcycles of Burton."
Fans were thrilled to see the two friends back together. @sparkybeemer said: “Fantastic news. Until you have ridden a bike people just do not understand the pull of getting back riding again. Have fun and stay safe Dave and Si.”
@Curries1 wrote: “Looking good. So glad to have you back.” @twogocaravanning commented: “Good to see you both back together.”
@Ashdownsgirl said: “Enjoy - you so deserve it. I’m thrilled for you, sending my very best wishes.” While @bonkersbird added: “Doing what you do best guys! Good to see you looking so healthy & happy Dave! Still have such great memories of your live show many many moons ago....bloody hilarious!!!”
Dave announced he had cancer in May last year while on podcast The Hairy Bikers: Agony Uncles… A Right Pair of Aunts. He said at the time that he wanted to discuss it publicly because he didn’t want to “hide under a rock”. He has chosen not to publicly reveal the type of cancer he has but previously said he was undergoing chemotherapy.
The 65-year-old's latest update comes a few days after Simon 'Si' King announced his next solo adventure. The pair's Go Local series came to an end after eight episodes. The Go Local series followed the duo as they tested the local delicacies, restaurants and most innovative suppliers.
