Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers has revealed the terrifying toll his chemotherapy has taken on him since he was diagnosed with cancer.
The TV star was diagnosed last year and shared the news on his podcast with fellow Hairy Biker Si King, admitting that he had been unwell and had to start chemotherapy.
Now, he's spoken candidly about his experience, admitting that he finds it hard to deal with the side effects of the treatment.
But while former Strictly Come Dancing star Dave, 65, admits that he initially thought the loss of his appetite could be good after losing weight – but he was wrong.
Speaking on the Seasoned podcast, he said: "It's funny when you first start chemotherapy, it's quite hard – I'm still having it, it was really brutal.
"I lost so much weight and then it's a battle to get your calories in."
He went on to say: "At first I thought, 'Right, this is great, I can eat all those pies I haven't been eating for years', except [my] appetite was dreadful!
"For me, a glutton, losing my appetite was awful, a can of soup was about as far as I could go.
"Now I've got to the point where I'm at the weight I want to be, and I want to maintain it."
After initially starting his treatment, Dave lost his hair and signature beard but recently took to social media to share a snap taken from a night out – sporting his full beard again.
However, his treatment also saw his ability to walk be hit by side effects as he explained to Kaye Adams: "By God, the chemotherapy doesn't half age you quickly.
Your balance goes, so for someone with a motorbike that's a disaster, and my walking has been affected quite a lot, really," before adding that he had to "learn to walk again properly".
Speaking on the How To Be 60 podcast, Dave said he has "no symptoms" of his cancer and was merely just affected bu the chemotherapy.
He explained to Kaye that regardless of a person's social economic background, "if you're on the telly or on the dole if you get that then you're in the s**t," he said.
However, he went on to say that the chemotherapy treatment can make the patient depressed due to those around you encouraging you to be positive but your own body is battling the disease.
But in true Hairy Bikers style, he's treating himself to a new motorbike for when he has fully recovered.
