The leaseholder of Tony Slavin 'Penny Lane' barber shop is leaving after nearly 40 years.
After cutting the hair of Beatles fans from all over the world, Adele Allan, 59, will be leaving the world-famous barber shop on Christmas Eve to focus on family life and "work-life balance". Adele, from Roby, said she has worked "on a Saturday since she was 17" and hopes by "winding down" she can spend more time with her grandchildren.
Adele has met many Fab Four fans during her time at the barber shop, famous for its mention in The Beatles song 'Penny Lane.' Although Adele is leaving, it is expected that the barber shop will remain open..

Reminiscing on her time at the barber shop, Adele said: "I've had so many good times. Everything that is good and bad in my life has happened while I've been here, if you know what I mean. But life goes on, it's another journey."
Celebrity visitors over the years include Jimmy Osmond, Woody Harrelson and the Redknapps. But although famous faces have regularly popped in to see the barber shop, Adele has still not met a member of The Beatles.
Adele said: "So I've done Saturdays for nearly 40 years, and I went on a cruise to the Norwegian Fjords with my partner and friends and while I was there, Paul McCartney came in here and I missed it.
"A girl I had working on for me on a Saturday morning was here, but I didn't get to meet him after 40 years of being here. So that's one not-good thing.
"But we've had so many good things happen. Just last week, we had a Dutch film crew filming a documentary who came with guitars singing Penny Lane. I've had loads of good times.
"When tourists come in, they put a donation in our charity box. This year we've been collecting for BLOOM, which is a blood cancer charity. So we've collected £1570 for them, we've collected £3298 for our charity and around £900 for Marie Curie.
"So many people come in, you know I've met so many people. It's been really nice, but I think now its time for myself."
