Until now, I believed Hailey Bieber placed a strict price cap on the flip-flop trend: her favorite pairs (usually from The Row) haven't dipped below $900. Turns out, to test more wallet-friendly price points, all Bieber needed was a flip-flop stylish enough to continue her cool-girl shoe streak. Meet A.Emery's Kinto Sandals, which cost $200.
On August 6, she enlisted the leather slides for a sushi date with her husband in L.A. She wore the black sandals with white jeans, a black scoop-neck shirt with three-quarter-length sleeves, and oval sunglasses.
Don't let the square-toe soles and soft leather fool you: these aren't The Row's City Sandals that Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Jennifer Lawrence, and Zoë Kravitz couldn't stop wearing last summer. The Kintos belong to the emerging Australian brand, which already earned endorsements from Taylor Swift, Gwyneth Paltrow, Elsa Hosk, and Olivia Culpo. (Marie Claire's editor-in-chief, Nikki Ogunnaike, also counts the heeled Lulu Sandals among her go-to styles.)
Since A.Emery's debut in 2017, lead designer Anna McLaren has expanded the catalog into ready-to-wear clothing, though the brand is still primarily known for its made-for-minimalists footwear.

This isn't the first time Bieber wore the style from the Melbourne-based label. In June, she tested the compatibility of the Kintos, which also come in suede and brown colors, with her favorite off-duty uniform of sandals and jeans in L.A.
Toward the end of July, she boarded a yacht in Greece with the pair and her raffia The Row bag. Days later, fans spotted the shoes again, this time in Sicily. Who knew $200 flip-flops could pose such a threat to her The Row footwear obsession?
Other open-toe styles from A.Emery have captivated A-listers, too. Way back in May 2023, Swift styled a white button-down and black Daisy dukes with the label's Zahara Leather Sandals. The crisscross style, which retailed for $190 before selling out, allowed the pop star to test-drive the toe-ring sandal trend years before her friend Selena Gomez.
