One of the best games of 2025, and one of the best roguelikes ever, is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S soon.
Supergiant Games announced today that Hades 2 will be launching on PS5 and Xbox in just a few weeks. Not only that, but the stellar title will also be available as part of a Game Pass subscription. It's a big win for gamers everywhere.

Previously, the sequel to Hades was only available on PC via early access on Steam before launching on the Nintendo Switch 2 this past September. I reviewed the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game last year and had very little negative to say about it, awarding it a 9.5 score.
Hades 2 stars Melinoë, the younger sister of Hades main character Zagreus, in her efforts to wrest control of the underworld from the Titan Chronos. I don't think you need to play Hades 1 to enjoy the sequel, but I do recommend it if you can manage, because they're both some of the best that the action roguelike genre has to offer. Plus, there are a lot of story beats that are mentioned in the sequel, so you may get lost a bit.
While Hades 2 is indeed more of the same greatness as Hades, on top of different areas, story, weapons, and characters, it offers a nice quality of life upgrade in that you can carry over your progress from other platforms. At least, the Switch 2 version let me use my progress from the Steam version of the game, so hopefully the same will be applied to PS5 and Xbox.
Hades 2 launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass on April 14. For those keeping track at home, that's a little bit less than three weeks from now.
