With many of us worrying about the cost of energy-guzzling appliances such as the oven, and Christmas turkeys being notoriously hard to time right anyway, there's now a way to significantly lower the time it takes to prepare the festive staple.
The solution comes from MuscleFood which bills itself as a healthy online retailer. Its sous vide turkey "helps speed up the cooking process while cutting the costs of buying high-quality meat."
With Christmas approaching, trying to find low-cost ingredients to feed the whole family can be a struggle in the midst of buying gifts and decorations.

The £34.99 turkey weighs 2.5kg and works out at £2.50 per serving for a group of 14 people, and costs just 17p to cook in a conventional fan oven. A standard turkey, which cooks for four hours in a fan oven, costs households £1.19, meaning those cooking the 35 minute turkey will spend 86% less on their energy bill.
It’s packed with a massive 35g of protein per 100g as well as benefiting from low fat, salt and sugar content. The Sous Vide approach comes from a French technique which focuses on temperature control to produce a tender and moist piece of meat.
While the meat will arrive fully cooked, it will still need to be put in the oven for 35 minutes before serving. When pre-sliced, the turkey can be cooked in just 15 minutes in the air fryer, costing households even less at 13.9p.
