Haason Reddick is lone former Cardinals player in Super Bowl

The Arizona Cardinals did not make it to the Super Bowl. They did not make it to the postseason after a 4-13 2022 season. Their stadium is where the Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

Typically, we can find a number of former Cardinals sprinkled across NFL rosters.

In the Super Bowl between the Chiefs and Eagles, there is only one.

The Chiefs have no former Cardinals players on their active roster, practice squad or on any reserve list.

The Eagles have a former Cardinal on the PUP list but only one on their active roster.

It is linebacker Haason Reddick.

Reddick, drafted in the first round by the Cardinals in 2017, has continued to thrive since leaving Arizona in free agency.

After three disappointing and difficult seasons to start his career, bouncing between positions and trying to learn to be an off-the-ball linebacker, he broke out in 2020 with 12.5 sacks.

The Cardinals did not re-sign him and he went on to sign a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers. After an 11-sack season for the Panthers, he signed a three-year deal with the Eagles.

In his first season with the Eagles, he had a career-high 16 sacks and 26 quarterback hits. He also forced five fumbles. He was selected to the Pro Bowl for the first time, was a second-team All-Pro and was fourth in Defensive Player of the Year voting.

Now he gets to return to State Farm Stadium on the biggest stage in the biggest game and show the world and the team that drafted him that he is one of the best pass rushers in football.
