Delhi has recorded a sharp increase in H1N1 influenza cases this season, with infections rising to 1,344 from 229 during the corresponding period last year. The increase of nearly six times has raised concern among doctors, who have cautioned people against dismissing H1N1 as a routine seasonal flu. While most healthy individuals recover, influenza can become serious and potentially life-threatening among people who are more vulnerable to complications.
