Rylan Clark fought back tears after losing a staggering £250,000 for charity on Ant and Dec's Limitless Win show.
The Radio 2 host, 33, appeared on the programme with comic David Walliams, 51, and the pair started off well – before they risked it all for a bigger prize.
After making their way up the ladder to earn a quarter of a million, the duo had the chance of making £500,000.
However, after they failed to lock-in what they'd earned, they lost the lot.
Rylan and David were asked: "How many weeks does it take for a tadpole to turn into a frog", before locking in the answer with just seconds to spare.
However, during the Christmas Day show, the It Takes Two star seemed to know the jig was up, joking: "Is this the way out?," as he pointed to the exit.
The pair's answer was wrong and too far out for the amount of lives they had remaining, meaning their gamble had failed.
David and Rylan looked devastated when they lost the money, however Ant and Dec gave the pair £1,000 so their charities had something.
Close to tears, wishing they'd "cashed out", Rylan said: "We're so gutted, so gutted. We did our best. It's been amazing coming on and we're just gutted we can't take home more for the charities.
"But they're getting at least a little something, so we're grateful, and if anything we've at least raised awareness for both of them."
He then lamented: "Why would you play that game? Unless you keep tadpoles at home, don't play that question.
"We needed more lives. We should've cashed out."
Rylan was playing for Chrons and Colitis UK in honour of his mum while David chose Alzheimers Research UK in tribute to late friend Dame Barbara Windsor.
The Little Britain star has been a judge on Britain's Got Talent for 10 years, however the father-of-one has reportedly quit the role after making derogatory comments about the contestants.
The Guardian obtained several transcripts of conversations between David and an unknown person on the show, including one in which the comic calls pensioner a c**t.
The children's author has apologised for making the "disrespectful comments" during filming breaks and his reported decision to leave the programme is said to have been one that was "not taken lightly".
"David has decided to bow out after a ten-year run. He wants to leave on a high after a wonderful time," an insider told The Sun.
"Being on the show has been a huge source of entertainment and joy for him and he is arguably the most popular member of the panel."
However, a BGT spokesperson did not confirm David's departure, telling The Mirror: "The judging panel for 2023 will be announced in due course."
