Gustavo Scarpa is expected to sign a pre-contract agreement with Nottingham Forest - and it has been claimed that he could be loaned immediately to Olympiakos in December once his Palmeiras deal expires.
Scarpa, an attacking midfielder, has been an ever-present for Palmeiras in the Brazilian top flight. He has made 171 appearances over four years, scoring 29 goals. Before that he spent four years with Fluminense, playing 151 times in the same league.
In 2016 he was named the league’s best player as Fluminense went on to lift the Primeira Liga trophy and that earned him international recognition with his native Brazil, and interest from Europe.

Forest, it appears, have moved to bring the 28-year-old to England in 2023 once his existing contract runs out, in December of this year. Reports in Brazil have emerged that a deal with the player and his representatives has already been struck.
Depending on the fortunes of Greek champions Olympiakos in the 2022-23 Champions League - the other European club owned by Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis - then Scarpa could be immediately loaned out. If Olympiakos are still in Europe’s top football competition, then he’ll head there. If not, then Scarpa is expected to link up with Steve Cooper and Forest for the second half of their Premier League campaign. That’s according to BBC South American football expert Tim Vickery.

Vickery tweeted: "As I understand it, the deal is with Forest in December - but if Olympiakos are still in the Champions League, he'll go there for 6 months."
