In an unfortunate turn of events, a shooting incident unfolded at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, during America's number one sports event. The incident occurred when a woman, believed to be between 30 to 35 years old, entered the church premises around 1:53 p.m. armed with a long rifle and wearing a trench coat. Accompanied by a small child, approximately 4 to 5 years old, the woman entered the building and began firing.
Fortunately, off-duty officers who were working extra employment at the church, including a T.A.B.C. agent with four years of service and an HPD officer with two years of service, bravely engaged the shooter, fatally striking her. Tragically, a five-year-old child was also hit during the incident and is currently in critical condition at a local hospital. Additionally, a 57-year-old man unrelated to the incident sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and is also receiving medical treatment.
