Gujarat high court denies anticipatory bail to filmmaker

Gujarat Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat high court on Monday denied anticipatory bail to filmmaker Avinash Das for posting an allegedly obscene picture of a woman wrapped in the tricolour, remarking that martyrs come wrapped in the national flag and it cannot be insulted.

Das has been booked by the city crime branch under the Prevention of Insult to National Honour Act for sharing a painting on social media.
