Italian luxury fashion giant, Gucci seems to have gotten into the habit of inviting trouble. The Italian fashion house based in Florence, Italy popular for its handbags, ready-to-wear and accessories has invited some fresh trouble by using real tigers in its new campaign celebrating 'Chinese Year of the Tiger'. Many social media users called out the brand for being insensitive and glorifying captive animals.
For its latest collection 'Gucci Tiger', the label recently showcased an ad campaign featuring “a wide-ranging selection of ready-to-wear and accessories, featuring various renditions of the animal”. It also mentioned that the collection was a “mainstay” of Alessandro Michele’s “collections and a reflection of his fascination with nature”.
