Two women visiting Liverpool for The Rolling Stones gig at Anfield were walked back to the city centre by two kind-hearted Scousers.
The two women - Mary Pilch and Janice Riley - were visiting from the North East of England to see the Stones' first performance in Liverpool in over 50 years. Mary, 69, told the ECHO the pair had journeyed down and booked an Airbnb in Orrell Park for the night.
On the day of the gig the pair took a taxi over to Anfield and made arrangements to be picked back up after the gig at 11.30pm. But the two women were left waiting until 12am before the taxi company said their taxi would not be able to collect them for another hour and a half.

Mary, from Chester-le-Street, said two men who had also been at the show told them they had a better chance of getting a taxi from Liverpool City Centre. But when the two women started to walk the pair of kind-hearted strangers said they would walk the four-mile journey with them.
Mary called the two men, named locally as Carl and Michael, her and Janice's "guardian angels". Mary told the ECHO : "These two men were just stood there eating pizza so we asked them would we have more of a chance of getting a taxi in the city centre.
"We set off and as two feisty ladies said we'd be fine. They said no we'll walk with you. Bless them they walked us all the way there.
"We then told them they should get in our taxi so we could drop them home but they said no and off they went. They were so kind and went above and beyond for two total strangers. It was just a really, really nice thing to do."
Mary said the gig was her second time in Liverpool after visiting last year. She said the people of Liverpool are "just really hospitable, friendly people" who made her feel very welcome.
She said The Rolling Stones gig was "fantastic - absolutely brilliant" and had a "lovely atmosphere".
Mary said she would like another chance to say thank you to Carl and Michael. She said the two men told them "Liverpool lads always make sure their mums and nans are alright".
Mary added: "This truly reinforced my belief that Liverpool people are lovely. With all the horrible things happening in the world it's just so nice when something like this happens - it certainly restores your faith in human nature."
