The Winter Update for GTA Online is finally here and that means it's time to roll up our sleeves and do some work in The Chop Shop. Liberty City's auto enthusiast Yusuf Amir is asking you for help and it's all about stealing the most coveted vehicles in Los Santos.
However, you're going to need some preparation, and this is where the Salvage Yard comes into play. This location serves as the perfect front for your sophisticated robbery operation. It has everything you need to pull off those robberies while being low-key enough so as not to catch the eye of the authorities.
Plan those Robberies
To get things started, you'll need to answer a call from Yusuf himself. By having a Salvage Yard, you'll be able to cut into whatever Yusuf and his cousin Jamal is planning. The robberies can be accessed through the Planning Wall and each one features a special target where planning is important especially if you want a successful boost.
Choose your Salvage Yard
There's a total of five Salvage Yard properties for you to choose from and each one comes with optional upgrades. Features that can be upgraded include Trade Rates which let your chop shop have connections to a special discount when requesting destroyed vehicles from Mors Mutual or even repairing vehicles in any custom shop. You can also upgrade the through a Tow Truck which can let you tow designated delinquent vehicles back to the Salvage Yard for another source of auto parts.
Break Down or Sell?
That said, once a robbery is successful and you manage to acquire a vehicle, drive it to the Chop Shop where it can be broken down and salvage for its valuable parts over time. By the way, you have the choice to sell the stolen vehicle but make sure not to scratch it before dropping at the docks.
Down and Dirty
Speaking of vehicle robberies, it's not going to be a walk in the park. While Jamal's operation does involve robberies, there's also going to be a weekly rotation of target vehicles that Yusuf wants added to his collection. Recognizing the target vehicle is a bit easy considering that it's going to have a flashy customized license plate. Reliable driving abilities are important but there are a lot more skills needed for a successful heist like undercover work, hacking, and split-second decision making, to name a few.
