With less than a year to go until Rockstar Games releases one of the most anticipated titles in video game history, fans are starting to get nervy about whether the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date will be delayed again. In May, the publisher announced that the game would be pushed back to 26 May 2026.
But while speculation of a second delay is rife, fans can breathe a (hesitant) sigh of relief. Last month, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told CNBC that his “level of conviction is very, very high, obviously,” when asked if he could meet the May 2026 release date. He added that “Rockstar's whole stock-in-trade is to have these extraordinary expectations, and still beat them. I know that's their goal”.
