Marketing and design agency Blue Moon Marketing is creating jobs on the back of number of new contract wins.
The Sunderland company is recruiting into seven new roles, including client managers, graphic designers, copywriters and a media and videographer to support its growth plans. Blue Moon Marketing was launched in 2021 during the pandemic by Anne Reynolds, who worked for several agencies with global companies including P&G, Clearblue and Shiseido Group.
Rapid expansion led to the company outgrowing its previous premises, prompting a move into new offices at Sunderland’s Doxford Park last month, which Ms Reynolds believes will support her continued growth strategy. She plans to increase the workforce from three to ten over the next few months.

She said: “The scale and growth of the business has come a lot quicker than I had originally planned and I’m really excited to expand the business further, starting with the Sunderland area. It’s come a long way since July 2021. When I decided to set-up my own agency, I remember being told that I’m starting at the worst possible time and I had also just become a new mum so it’s not been easy but look how far we’ve come. I’m so proud of what I’ve achieved and excited for the what the future holds.
“Culture is everything for Blue Moon, so as part of this recruitment drive, I’m looking for talented professionals to strengthen the core leadership team, driving the business forward and become role models for our younger team members. Jennifer is an exceptional marketing and PR professional and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge with her, I’m really excited to have her on board. We’re here to break down barriers and offer a fresh approach to how external marketing services are perceived and delivered.”
The company recently welcomed Jennifer Scullion, who became the company’s third employee – its senior client manager. She joins from her previous role where she was PR and marketing manager for a construction firm.
She said: “I’m really excited by this new role and have so many ideas and so much energy and drive for my work. I was unexpectedly made redundant in February after the firm I was working for went into administration. I found myself in the unique position of having the chance to really take a step back and think about what I wanted to do and where my next career move should be.
“I’ve worked in-house for over 10 years and never thought I could, or would work for an agency but after meeting the team and listening to the vision for the business, it made me think twice. I’m delighted to be here.”
