A man allegedly used a crowbar to break into a Franklin tobacconist so he and two female companions could steal cigarettes, police say.
ACT police said the three people drove a reportedly stolen white Kia SUV to Franklin shops, on Clare Burton Close, about 2am on Tuesday, September 17.
This is when they allegedly stole the cigarettes.
According to police, two days later, on Thursday about 9.30am, police saw the white Kia being driven by a man in Narrabundah.
He did not stop driving when directed, and a short time later officers found the vehicle on fire on Parkes Way, police said.
"Following enquiries and analysis of CCTV from the business, police spoke to [one of the women] and conducted a search of her residence in Narrabundah," they said.
"Officers located clothes that matched the CCTV footage and other items believed to be stolen property from a separate reported burglary."
The 30-year-old woman was arrested and charged with intent to commit theft in joint commission, joint commission of theft, riding in a motor vehicle without consent, unlawful possession of stolen property and breaching a good behaviour order.
The woman is scheduled to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
