Over the last few years, the Lexington based Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence has created groundswell community profiles for all 171 school districts in the state. These profiles offer a comprehensive assessment of each district from the years 2018, 2021, and 2022.
President and CEO of the Prichard Committee, Brigitte Blom said these profiles serve as a good place to start local conversation.
“We’ve needed to really bring communities to the table in support of our schools and districts, and our families and students for some time now, and we’ve also needed to stabilize the policy environment so our schools and our educators can really focus on improving high quality teaching and learning environments.”
Blom said improving educational needs relies on collaboration and getting involved. She said she wants people to open up the profiles and have an ‘a-ha’ moment about their communities. The Prichard Committee has lots of information for those wanting to help out their communities.
“So, if someone’s interested in improving those early childhood outcomes, they can come to our website and they can get information, the research, the data, the strategies that will help improve those outcomes, and they can also be connected with others across the state who are working in that area.”
