Greggs has left fans disappointed by announcing that they have had to hike the price of their bestselling sausage rolls due to supply chain issues.
The nation's favourite bakery chain's iconic pastry has been put up by 5p this week and will now cost £1.15 instead of £1.10, reports The Mirror.
It is the second time this year that the bakery firm has had to increase their costs, after they increased the price of their sausage rolls back in January this year.
The beloved bakery chain has had to increase their prices during the cost of living mainly due to soaring inflation levels and costs of ingredients, packaging and energy.
Naturally, sausage rolls fans were left devastated by yet another price hike on their favourite order, with many taking to Twitter to voice their disappointment.
"How can Greggs put the sausage roll prices up from £1.10 to £1.15? I’m actually tired", fumed one fan.
"You know the world is f*cked when Greggs put the prices up sneakily 5p on a breakfast. I nearly cried", commented a second.
"Just been to Greggs. sausage roll now £1.15. A 5P INCREASE. This has to stop", wrote a third.
"Well imagine my horror upon purchasing a sausage roll in Greggs that they've gone up to £1.15", wrote a fourth shocked customer.
Greggs said in a Tweet: "Like many other retailers, we're having to manage the pressure of rising prices across our supply chain. We've had to make some small price increases across our range."
Greggs has been approached for comment.
The much-loved bakery put up its prices by 5p to 10p in January this year, with a sausage roll going up from £1 to £1.05.
Then in August Greggs warned that its prices would probably have to go up again - by 9%.
The latest price hikes from Greggs means that their popular pastry treats have risen by 10p since the beginning of this year.
