Gregg Wallace announces daughter's engagement at the 'most magical place on earth'

Gregg Wallace announced on Instagram Thursday that his daughter Libby is engaged to her boyfriend Alex Marsden.

The MasterChef star, who turned 60 on Thursday, shared the joyous news that his only daughter, 28, will marry Alex, her boyfriend of two years.

In a heartfelt post surrounded by pumpkins, Libby showcased her engagement ring and revealed that Alex proposed in the "most magical place on earth."

She wrote: “I said yes in one of the most magical places on earth #PumpkinProposal”.

This announcement comes just a week after the couple celebrated their two-year anniversary, sharing a slew of photos on social media.

Libby wrote alongside the images: “2 years of us, my love In 2 years we have had 3 house moves, 2 trips to urgent care and countless belly laughs.

“Here’s to more adventures, silliness, taking things too far and just generally more chaos. I love you”.

The TV judge welcomed Libby and his son Tom, 30, from his second marriage to pastry chef Denise, who sadly passed away in 2017 after a long struggle with alcohol addiction.

The former couple was married from 1999 until their divorce in 2004.

Wallace tied the knot with his fourth wife Anne-Marie Sterpini, 39, in Hever Castle in Kent in 2016. Anne welcomed their a son, his third child, Sid in 2019.

The news comes after Wallace denied that he said “anything sexual” while appearing on a BBC show more than half a decade ago.

He responded to reports that there was an alleged incident in 2018 when he appeared on Impossible Celebrities, which was investigated by the BBC.

The BBC’s review found he could continue working at the corporation, the Sun newspaper reported.

In an Instagram post following the front-page story on Monday, Wallace said: “The story that’s hitting the newspapers this morning was investigated promptly when it happened six years ago by the BBC.

“And the outcome of that was that I hadn’t said anything sexual. I’ll need to repeat this again. I didn’t say anything sexual.”

He previously fronted Inside The Factory before saying last year that he would step away to take care of his autistic and non-verbal son, Sid.

In another video, the former greengrocer said: “Despite what the newspapers are suggesting nobody six years ago accused me of flirting with anybody or hitting on anybody.

“And the reason I say this is because of my wife Anna. I have always been true to my wife Anna and have never flirted or hit on anybody in the 12 years that I met her and fell in love with her.

“And it’s important that, so that people don’t misunderstand that, that I am true to my wife.”

A BBC spokesman said: “Whilst we do not comment on individuals, if issues are raised they are dealt with swiftly and appropriately at the time.

“We do not tolerate any form of inappropriate behaviour and have robust processes in place.”
