Fox Sports has found a star in Greg Olsen, and his insight was on display on one of the biggest stages in all of sports Sunday night when he teamed up with Kevin Burkhardt on a perfect call of Super Bowl LVII.
The former Pro Bowl tight end did a great job of being in the moment and calling things the way he saw them on two big plays during the Chiefs’ game-winning drive.
First, he was very honest and open about the controversial holding call that went against the Eagles, and then he brilliantly yelled at Kansas City tailback Jerick McKinnon to go down before reaching the end zone so the Chiefs could kill the clock and kick the game-winning field goal with just a few seconds left.
Here’s Olsen’s call:
That is so good. His energy and sense of urgency on that call were exactly what that play needed, and Olsen made a dramatic moment feel dramatic, which is what good announcers do.
Fox should stick with Olsen and tell Tom Brady to just enjoy his retirement.
