Greg O’Shea has said Love Island fans turned on him after he won the show because he didn’t follow the path set out by previous winners.
The Limerick man coupled up with Amber Gill in the summer of 2019 but he didn’t make the move across the Irish Sea to London.
However, when the pair broke up so he could focus on his Rugby Sevens career in Ireland, fans were furious and began sending Greg death threats.

The 27-year-old said: “People started to turn on me when I didn’t stay in London and follow the Love Island path.
"People said I was full of s**t, I was only after money and I was getting death threats.
“But the truth was that I went back to Ireland to earn less than minimum wage and to train.
"I am happy in myself and I still have all my friends and teammates.”
Greg was offered big money deals but turned them down to follow his Olympic dream.
He said: “In one sense, people were offering me contacts for obscene amounts of money and I would have been living in London.
“My pockets would have been full but I wouldn’t have been happy because I would have been watching my mates achieving their life-long goal of getting to the Olympics.”
