The University of Northwestern has fired its long-time and legacy head coach Pat Fitzgerald after an investigation uncovered a culture of hazing and racism during his tenure. And one of his former players in Cleveland Browns cornerback Greg Newsome II is not too happy about the results of the investigation.
It appears Newsome II and Fitzgerald have a strong relationship, but that does not simplify the difficulty of the situation. Here is what Newsome II had to say on Twitter after the firing of Fitzgerald.
Nice knowing you Evanston won’t be seeing me NO more.

it’s also obvious that we played during different eras so that could’ve been an experience that they had and don’t want to downplay their experience. But from mine it was nothing but respect. https://t.co/yL57ehBzPI

Ok now this is getting out of hand. Coach Fitz is a great man. During my time at NU I have never felt belittled or treated any different for being Black or a minority. Stop it. https://t.co/DP3A78CqCy
