Greg James and wife Bella are fine with having no kids as 'friends make it look hard'

Greg James revealed he and his wife Bella Mackie are happy with not having children at the moment.

The Radio 1 DJ, 37, said he and Bella, 39, 'have a nice life' and are currently focused on their careers.

Greg and Bella got engaged in 2018 after she popped the question and the two tied the knot in September of that same year.

"Basically we're both on 'no' to kids at the moment…It's where we are at the moment," the radio star revealed.

"We're having a nice time. I'm 37 and Bella is 39. Plenty of time…We have a nice life."

He added: "Bella is enjoying her success as a writer and we can take a view later. Ask ourselves: what does our life look like in 10, 15, 20 years? We're fine without it. "

The star went on to joke with Men's Health UK that their friends make "having kids look hard" and "none of them look like they're having a nice time."

In May 2020, Bella's mental health 'plummeted' after suffering a miscarriage.

Bella - real name Isabella Rusbridger - sufferers from anxiety and OCD and has shared that during the 21 days she was pregnant her mental health "plummeted dramatically."

As a result, it led to her being "terrified" of becoming pregnant again as she is worried about risking her mental well-being.

"It was a surprise and only lasted for about three weeks; it could barely be called a miscarriage," Bella said in a personal essay for The Times in 2020.

The writer continued: "But even in that brief window my mental health plummeted dramatically.

She explained how she had "constant intrusive thoughts" and how her OCD "roared back" and she couldn't stop crying.

The author says she was shocked by the "intensity and speed" of her "deterioration" - which makes her unsure if she wishes to compromise her mental health to become a mother.

Bella continued: "The baby thought remains vague. I am still terrified of the possibility that I might slide back down the treacherous slope and end up losing my independence, or being resentful about what I’ve lost.

"I will keep mulling it over and think about what positive safeguards I can put in place if I do decide to have a baby."
