The Greens have called for a range of measures to ease cost of living pressures in next month's South Australian budget.
The party says the new Labor state government should make public transport free, introduce rent caps and subsidies, increase public sector wages, scrap public schools fees and boost investment in public housing.
"With increasing interest rates and soaring inflation, more and more South Australians are struggling to make ends meet," Greens upper house MP Robert Simms said.
"The cost of fuel, housing, food and other essentials is skyrocketing, and the state government can provide relief in next month's budget."
Mr Simms planned to move a motion in state parliament on Wednesday calling for the government to act on its proposals.
Treasurer Stephen Mullighan will hand down the state budget on June 2, less than three months after Labor's election win.
During the campaign, Mr Mullighan said Labor would not introduce any new taxes or impose tax hikes.
Though he said Labor's spending commitments would add $243 million to state debt.
They were also expected to cut the projected budget surplus for 2022/23 by $14 million to $88 million.
