Green Party TD Neasa Hourigan has been suspended from the party for 15 months following her decision to vote against the Government.
She has also lost her lucrative position as chairperson of the Budgetary Oversight Committee, which comes with a €10,802 a year salary. In a statement on Wednesday evening, a Green Party spokesperson said that Ms Hourigan could reapply for entry in time.
This means that she will be suspended until June 2024 at the earliest. They said: “The Green Party parliamentary party has agreed to remove the party whip and suspend Deputy Neasa Hourigan from the parliamentary party for not less than 15 months after she voted against the Government earlier this evening (Wednesday).
