RANGERS midfielder Steven Davis has received glowing praise from Greece manager Gus Poyet.
The former Chelsea star has explained he has "huge respect" for the 37-year-old.
Davis will earn his 140th cap for Northern Ireland this evening when he likely lines up to face Poyet's Greek side in the final round of their Nations League group fixtures.
That's something that Poyet is a huge admirer of, having only managed 29 caps for Uruguay during his playing days.
He told the media: “In my career I only played 29 times for the national team, so the difference to someone like Davis is massive.
"He knows the game so well, he manages the game and the tempo, when to accelerate and when to slow it down.
“He has the confidence of the people around him and again I have huge respect for people who play that number of games for their national team at any level."
