It’s set to be another sub-zero day in Manchester on Friday, with the cold snap continuing into the weekend.
After a week of temperatures regularly going below freezing — including a low of -11C in rural areas — the Mercury is set to climb slightly. On Friday (December 16), the high will be 1C and the low -1C.
It will get warmer on Saturday, with a high of 4C and low of 0C. And on Sunday, it will be wet — but 5C, according to the Met Office.

That warming will culminate in a positively tropical Monday (December 19), when it is expected to hit 13C. The mild weather will continue as we get closer to Christmas Day, with the Met Office’s latest predictions for December 22 suggesting highs of 9C and a low of 5C.
Wednesday, December 21, is also the shortest day of the year — with the sun rising at 8:23am, and setting at 3:51pm. However, despite a lack of sun, it’ll still be as warm as 8C.
That’s the forecast for Manchester looking ahead for the rest of the week. There is also a yellow weather warning issued to Greater Manchester and much of Scotland, Wales, and the north, for snow and ice.
