A teenage boy has died in the sea off the coast of Skegness after a desperate five hour search involving the coastguard helicopter.
Tragedy struck during what was another extremely busy weekend for emergency services stretched to breaking point by the heatwave that has blitzed much of the country.
Police said emergency services were called to a report that a child under 16 was in the water at about 6.15pm on Saturday (August 13), and, following a search by police, coastguard and lifeboats, the boy's body was found at around 11.30pm.
