The Great British Bake Off finally returns to our screens this evening and it comes at just the right time to cheer up the nation. Jokers Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding will once again play hosts while Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will be judging the best of baking in order to crown a winner of the 2022 series.
This year's bakers come from far and wide, with families from Poland, Malaysia, Libya and Sweden, and boast an array of different professions, including a supermarket cashier, nanny and nuclear scientist. While the 12 new contestants will be putting out all the stops to impress Channel 4 viewers and the judges with their cakes, will any of them be able to top the best bloopers from series gone by?
Over the years, Bake Off fans have been cruelly entertained with huge disasters - from collapsing cakes to A&E near misses. TouchCasino.com have collated a list of the show's most memorable mishaps, including from the celebrity series, and ranked them on how many Youtube views they have accumulated with clips on the official Bake Off channel.

Topping the list with a whopping 1,697,546 views is the unfortunate incident with Joe Sugg, whose appearance on GBBO saw him manage to slice his finger with a vegetable peeler.
Medical staff had to attend to the YouTube star, who ended up fainting at the sight of his own blood.
Despite this, he miraculously made a comeback and smashed the baking challenge, collecting a congratulatory handshake from Paul Hollywood.
In second place is Peep Show's David Mitchel, who presented a pale pavlova that left viewers disgusted, describing it as 'grey sludge', and in third place is the moment Krishnan Guru-Murthy flipped his lemon drizzle cake with the aid of Sandi Toksvig, where it ended up being broken into several pieces.
Also making the list was the horrifying moment Ruby's vegan showstopper slowly collapsed to the floor, with the clip receiving 166,587 views.
Hilarious Alison Hammond made it into fourth place for her blooper, where she couldn't find the oven door, and in fifth place was the famous 'custardgate' - where a contestant admitted to using someone else's custard.
"Bake Off Series 4 brought us one of the most dramatic scandals in British television history: the case of the stolen custard," the description for the Bake Off clip said.
"It was no trifling matter as the unfortunate accident left Howard in a sticky situation, while Deborah had to be taken into custard-y."
Sura's accidental sabotage from the 2020 series won seventh place - where she accidentally knocked Dave's pineapple upside down cakes over - while the eighth spot went to 2017 contestant Kate, who dropped an actual 'clanger' when taking her bakes out of the oven, proclaiming: "I've literally dropped a clanger.
"That's actually the worst thing that could have happened."
