Grassroots SNP group challenges John Swinney amid conference ‘independence omission’

A GRASSROOTS pressure group set to officially launch at the SNP conference has called on the First Minister to commit to five pledges to build the foundations for Scottish independence – saying the absence of any fringe events on the issue is a "glaring omission".

The group, which is composed of ordinary SNP members aiming to push the party to go further and faster on the issue of independence, said its proposals represent a “five-point route-map” leading the way out of the Union.
