The NBA has suspended Celtics forward Grant Williams for one game without pay, the league announced on Wednesday. Williams was ejected Monday night after making contact with one of the officials during Boston’s loss to Chicago.
In a press release the league stated Williams was being suspended for “recklessly making contact with and directing inappropriate language toward a game official.”
Williams will serve his suspension during Boston’s game against Cleveland on Friday. You can watch the initial play from Monday’s broadcast below.

Cleveland presents an interesting challenge for the Celtics, as the Cavaliers have one of the longer and more athletic front courts with Evan Mobley and Jarret Allen. Being down one more big and a floor spacer in Grant Williams may force Boston head coach Joe Mazzulla to rely on the deeper ends of his bench.
