A granola marketed to nursing mothers has been pulled from the national market because it contains an imported ingredient tied to four separate Salmonella outbreak investigations since 2025. The Hampton Grocers, Inc. of Montauk, New York, recalled 8-ounce pouches of Lacnola Lactation Granola after an ingredient supplier reported that one of its products had tested positive for Salmonella. That product contains organic moringa powder, which is also used in the granola.
The recall was published by the FDA on August 14, weeks after federal agencies declared the moringa outbreak investigations closed. No illnesses have been linked to the granola. What makes this recall different from the supplement recalls that preceded it is who buys the product and who else may be exposed in the same household.
