Thousands of spectators are set to walk through Aintree's turnstiles, as Grand National welcomes crowds back for the first time since 2019.
Saturday will see millions of punters worldwide eagerly watching action from Merseyside, all hoping to have backed a winner. The Grand National is one of the most unpredictable events in all of sport.
Previous years have seen winners emerge victorious after starting as far out as 100/1, while way back in 1928 Tipperary Tim was the only horse to finish the race without being remounted, also at odds of 100/1. A Grand National win can propel a career of the horse, trainer and owner to new heights - with some becoming household names on the back of their success. 40 runners have now been confirmed for the main event on Saturday and action will be shown on ITV and Racing TV.

What time is the Grand National?
The 2022 Grand National will start at 17:15pm on Saturday, 9 April. Due to the nature of the start, delays are frequent but make sure you get your bets in well in advance.
Action starts at 13:45pm, with five races being held before the main event. There is also a race being held after the Grand National at 18:20pm.
