Graham Potter has been warned that he faces a unique challenge at Chelsea that he hasn't faced before. And, failure to acclimatise to the demands of his new job in west London could see the former Brighton and Hove Albion boss dealt a similar fate to Thomas Tuchel.
That's according to former Chelsea and Arsenal defender Emmanuel Petit, who claims that the 47-year-old's appointment at Stamford Bridge is a gamble. Despite having impressed at the Amex Stadium, Potter is said to have not yet worked with the 'standards and egos' of players found at Cobham training ground.
Speaking to Lord Ping, Petit said: "Graham Potter is a gamble for Chelsea. I have big respect for the work Potter has done at Brighton; the team has improved so much but Chelsea is a new world for him.

"It's completely different. The standards and egos of the players are not the same."
Petit continued by wishing the newly-appointed Blues boss good luck, although the Frenchman warned Potter that he could also have to win the hearts of players who have been left upset by Tuchel's abrupt exit.
"I hope he will succeed, but it's a big gamble," Petit added. "I have no idea how the players will react to his appointment but I can imagine some will be happy and some will be unhappy."
And Potter has already been told who the maverick in the dressing room could be. Speaking to Fair Betting Sites, Shaun Wright-Phillips said: "Well, I don't think Aubameyang will regret the move because he's tried to sign in for a massive club in Chelsea, great club, great fans, and he's back in the Premier League again and he's playing Champions League football as well.
"So I don't think he'll complain too much," the former Chelsea winger said. "I think what will maybe the struggle or the thing that they both have to get used to is when the new manager comes in, is he going to be like, is he going to allow him to be a maverick or is he going to him strict, which doesn't seem to work for Aubameyang.
"He seems to like to do what Aubameyang likes to do. I think the next manager that comes in is you cannot say leaning with him, but as long as he works hard to the team and he scores you those goals, you got to give him a little bit of a yardage in a way, because it's hard to change your character."
