Graham Potter branded Elland Road one of the most hostile stadiums in football after he watched his side concede a 92nd-minute equaliser against Leeds United. Pascal Struijk was the man who dealt the late blow to the Seagulls after Danny Welbeck had opened the scoring midway through the first half.
Until a late barrage of Robert Sanchez’s goal, the visitors were largely in control of proceedings in West Yorkshire but the late pressure, aided by vociferous support, told and the Whites picked up a vital point. Following Burnley’s defeat at Tottenham earlier in the day, it moved Leeds out of the relegation zone.
It was the last home game of the season for Jesse Marsch’s side and the atmosphere created inside Elland Road would have affected even some of Europe’s most experienced teams. Potter admitted that his fairly youthful side weren’t quite able to handle it.
